About Murray Animal Hospital
First Visit
When planning your visit to our hospital, please remember these
will be strange surroundings and your pet may be uneasy. We encourage
you to restrain your pet with a leash, in a carrier or in your
arms before entering the reception area. Your pet and others in
the waiting room will appreciate the extra care.
If you suspect your pet may have a contagious
disease, please let us know prior to your visit. We may ask you
to wait a moment before bringing in your pet so we may prepare
an examination room for you to enter directly. Also, to aid in
the initial examination, we may ask that you bring any previous
medical records, vaccination certificates or other helpful information.
This will help us to establish a thorough and accurate medical
history.
When you schedule your pet's first appointment,
please arrive a few minutes early to fill out a brief information
sheet so we can gather information pertinent to your pet's visit.
We also ask that, for your convenience,
you leave your pet in the examination room or place him or her
in your vehicle while any medications or supplies are prepared
after the veterinarian or technologist have examined your pet.
The doctor or technologist will then explain the medication and
answer any further questions.
Hospitalization/Boarding
For the safety of all pets in our care, we require that all vaccinations
be current on those animals admitted for veterinary care or boarding.
Vaccines include distemper, parvovirus, bordetella and rabies
for dogs; and panleukopenia, rhinotracheitis, bordetella and rabies
for cats. Unless a medical contradiction exists, these vaccinations
can be updated at the time your pet is being hospitalized or boarded.
We request that you always leave us a phone number where you may be reached, if necessary.
An animal boarded at our facility for a period
of three days or more is given a complimentary bath prior to going
home. By providing a pick-up time to our receptionist, we can
guarantee your pet is bathed and dried by the time you pick him
or her up.
Visiting hospitalized pets is by appointment and
permitted at our discretion. A constant flow of people tends to
excite all pets in the hospital, including the pet being hospitalized.
Please call ahead to schedule visitation times.
Discharging of hospitalized animals requires a
time set by out receptionist so that the medications dispensed,
home care and nutritional needs can be discussed with you by one
of our animal health technologists.
Emergency Service
Emergency services are available 24 hours a day. If you have an emergency, you can call our office number, 270.753.2088, and the answering service will contact the doctor on duty. We will then promptly return your call.
Payment/Fees
Full payment is expected at the time services are rendered or
upon discharge of hospitalized patients. This enables us to keep
our bookkeeping expenses to a minimum and prevents any finance
charges. We welcome payment in cash, personal checks, Visa, Mastercard,
Discover, American Express and CareCredit. We also accept Veterinary Pet Insurance.
We make every effort to ensure fees are fair and
reasonable. Clients are encouraged to discuss fees before services
are rendered. An itemized statement outlining each procedure and
medication is given to clients following their pet's office visit.
Quotes may also be given ahead of time if so desired. In the case
of a hospitalized patient, please feel free to inquire about accumulating
fees as well as the progress of your pet.
